Anshul Ruparell

Anshul is a Board Director of Clutch, Canada's online car retailer, and a Venture Partner at FJ Labs, a venture capital firm that was an early investor in companies such as Alibaba and Uber.

Previously, Anshul was co-founder and CEO of Properly, a company that enabled homeowners to access their home equity to buy their next home before selling their current one. In five years, the business scaled to $30+ million in annual sales and $1.5+ billion in annual customer transactions, becoming one of the most recognized brands in Canadian real estate. Properly was backed by prominent investors including Bain Capital and was recognized as one of the best workplaces in Canada by Great Place to Work. Properly was acquired in 2023 by Compass Real Estate (NYSE:COMP).

Prior to Properly, Anshul was a venture capitalist at FJ Labs, where he also incubated two companies, a private equity investor at CPP Investments, and an investment banker at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Anshul was born and raised in Calgary, but now lives in Toronto with his family. Anshul holds an HBA from Ivey Business School and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Sheldon McCormick

Sheldon was most recently the COO of Properly. Before Properly, Sheldon played a pivotal role in launching and building Uber in Canada. He built the ground operations that contributed to scaling Uber Canada’s ridesharing business from inception to millions of trips per week, and ultimately served as the General Manager for all of Ontario, overseeing a $1 billion P&L and a team of over 80 employees.

Prior to Uber, Sheldon was a management consultant at Monitor Group, where he focused on projects in sales, pricing, and marketing for companies in the chemicals and industrials sectors.

Sheldon grew up in Sydney, Nova Scotia, and holds a BComm degree from Queens University.
